Formed in London in 1968 by Jon Anderson and Chris Squire, Yes helped define progressive rock with ambitious albums such as Fragile and Close to the Edge, and later reached a wider pop audience when "Owner of a Lonely Heart" topped the US singles chart. Released in 1997, Open Your Eyes was the first Yes album to feature Billy Sherwood as a full member, and its sessions brought together longtime members Anderson, Squire, Steve Howe and Alan White with newer contributors Sherwood and Igor Khoroshev during a period of frequent lineup changes. The band's influence across generations of rock musicians was recognized with its induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
