Item Details: This original 11 x 17 thin card stock concert poster commemorates Weezer and The Pixies' co-headlining performance on August 12, 2018, at the AK-Chin Pavilion. The item features seven signatures hand-signed in black and copper marker by members of both legendary alternative rock bands: Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, and Brian Bell of Weezer, alongside Black Francis, Joey Santiago, David Lovering, and Paz Lenchantin of The Pixies. Representing a choice piece of alternative rock tour history, this poster is fully certified by James Spence Authentication under JSA Authentication Number BB40833.

The Pixies, formed in Boston in 1986, built their reputation on abrupt shifts between hushed verses and explosive choruses, a quiet-loud approach that shaped much of the alternative rock that followed; Kurt Cobain acknowledged that Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was an attempt to write in the Pixies' style. Weezer, formed in Los Angeles in 1992, reached a wide audience with their 1994 debut, known as the Blue Album and produced by Ric Ocasek of the Cars, whose blend of distorted guitars, pop melody and self-deprecating lyrics became a lasting template for power pop and emo-leaning rock. Their 2018 co-headlining tour paired a group that helped define the late-1980s college rock underground with one that carried that guitar-driven sensibility into the mainstream of the 1990s and beyond.
