Offered Here: The Tubes 1977 Now Record Store Promotional Mounted Poster. This original 1977 record store promotional display, measuring 24 x 26 inches, was created by A&M Records to advertise The Tubes’ third studio album, "Now". The mounted poster was designed as a point-of-purchase visual, coinciding with the release of their successful live album "What Do You Want From Live" the same year. It captures The Tubes at a significant moment in their career, showcasing their theatrical rock showmanship during their rise to national prominence.
Additional Information: "Now" was released in 1977 and is known for its eclectic and experimental sound, contributing to The Tubes' growing reputation for creative and theatrical live performances. Produced by Mike Stone, who had previously worked with bands like Queen and Journey, the album marked a departure into more diverse musical styles. The Tubes were notable for their elaborate stage shows and became known for their satirical and often controversial performances throughout the late 1970s.
Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Fee Waybill, legendary front man and lead singer of iconic rock band The Tubes. It was selected from a vast collection of mementos and memorabilia, and will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Fee Waybill.
Condition: The mounted poster is in exceptionally good condition, with only minor signs of wear, aging, and storage. Despite being created as retail display material, it has retained its original color vibrancy and structural integrity, showing minimal signs of handling. This preservation makes it an outstanding example of 1970s rock memorabilia.
