Offered Here: The Rolling Stones 2002 Royden "Chuch" Magee Memorial Lot. This collection commemorates Royden "Chuch" Magee, the longtime road manager and crew chief for The Rolling Stones over nearly three decades. Included is a letter from photographer Tom Wright to Ian McLagan concerning Magee's sudden passing in 2002 during the Stones' rehearsals for their Licks World Tour. The lot features two Tom Wright photographs of Magee: a 12 x 16-inch large inkjet duotone print signed and stamped by Wright with minor water spots on thick paper stock, and a black and white 8 x 10 on heavy card stock of the same image. Additionally, there is another 8 x 10 black and white photo capturing Magee backstage during the 1975 Tour of The Americas.
Additional Information: Royden "Chuch" Magee was an integral part of The Rolling Stones team, aiding in the logistics and operations of their tours. The Licks World Tour, which began in 2002, was in celebration of the band's 40th anniversary. It featured a variety of setlists across venues differing in size, aligning with the band's dynamic performance style. Magee’s contributions were crucial during these tours, further cementing the band's legendary status in the rock world.
Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.
Condition: The items in this lot are in very good condition. The large inkjet duotone print has minor water spots, while the photos and accompanying materials remain well-preserved with their physical integrity intact.
