Offered Here: Ozzy Osbourne 1980 Newcastle Blizzard of Ozz Tour Handbill

Item Details: Up for auction is an incredibly rare, vintage piece of heavy metal history featuring an Ozzy Osbourne 1980 Newcastle Blizzard of Ozz Tour Handbill. This original promotional handbill advertises the legendary former Black Sabbath frontman's solo performance at the Mayfair Ballroom in Newcastle on Friday, October 17, 1980. This historic gig occurred during the iconic UK leg of his foundational Blizzard of Ozz tour, showcasing a groundbreaking lineup that featured virtuosic guitarist Randy Rhoads. The collectible artifact also highlights the formidable supporting acts for the evening, Welsh heavy metal pioneers Budgie and Newcastle's own NWOBHM legends Raven. Measuring approximately 5 1/8 x 8 1/8 inches, this scarce piece of ephemera is a premier addition for serious collectors of rock music memorabilia and early 1980s metal history.

After his 1979 dismissal from Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne launched a solo career with guitarist Randy Rhoads, bassist Bob Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake, and their 1980 debut album Blizzard of Ozz, featuring "Crazy Train" and "Mr. Crowley," established him as a commercially successful solo artist. Rhoads's classically influenced playing became a major influence on a generation of heavy metal guitarists before his death in a plane crash in March 1982. The album and its accompanying tour arrived during the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and helped shape the sound of 1980s metal.

Condition: The handbill is preserved in very good condition, displaying common signs of wear, ageing, and storage expected of a genuine 40-plus-year-old concert artifact. It has been folded twice in the past, resulting in a distinct hard crease, along with one additional light fold line and minor stray surface creasing across the face. The top corners show typical wear and light softening from age. On the reverse side, all four corners bear faint indications of historical sticky tack use from when it was originally displayed by a fan decades ago. These honest imperfections tell the authentic story of a live music relic that survived the golden era of heavy metal.
