Metallica's The $5.98 E.P. – Garage Days Re-Revisited, released in 1987, was the band's first recording with bassist Jason Newsted, who joined after Cliff Burton was killed in a tour bus accident in Sweden in September 1986. Made up entirely of cover songs, including material by Diamond Head, Budgie, Killing Joke, Holocaust and the Misfits, the EP highlighted the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and punk influences that shaped Metallica's sound, and its loose, deliberately raw approach gave the regrouped lineup a way to work together before recording ...And Justice for All. The EP's covers were later collected on the 1998 compilation Garage Inc., which helped introduce several of the original artists to a wider audience.
Condition: Good to fair with missing paper in the middle top, edge wear, folds and edge wear.
