Paul Stanley co-founded KISS with Gene Simmons in New York in 1973, and as the band's Starchild frontman, rhythm guitarist and principal songwriter he helped shape a theatrical brand of hard rock built on makeup, pyrotechnics and arena-sized anthems such as "Detroit Rock City" and "I Was Made for Lovin' You." Released in 2006, Live to Win was Stanley's first solo album since his 1978 self-titled record, issued when all four original KISS members put out solo albums on the same day. It was followed by his first solo tour in decades, and KISS was later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
