Offered Here: KISS 1995 Lot of 2 Monitor Wedges Used on the KISS Convention Tour
Item Details: This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of rock and roll history from the legendary 1995 KISS Convention Tour. This auction features an authentic pair of Carvin model 742 stage monitor wedges utilized live during the band’s historic unplugged performances. These specific monitors provided the stage audio for Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and/or Bruce Kulick during their acoustic sets, which ultimately inspired the famous MTV Unplugged session. Adding immense provenance to this lot, each monitor retains its original KISS inventory tracking sticker inside the recessed carrying handle, and the iconic KISS logo is stenciled in white paint across the side of the cabinets. A premier addition for any serious music memorabilia collector, these road-tested cabinets capture a pivotal era in the band's touring legacy and are being sold strictly as collectible items.
Provenance / Authenticity: Sold in 2001 through the official Lelands KISS Auction.
In 1995 KISS took an unusual step for a major rock act by touring a series of official fan conventions, where Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Bruce Kulick and Eric Singer played informal acoustic sets, answered audience questions and took song requests alongside displays of the band's costumes, instruments and memorabilia. The stripped-down convention performances led directly to KISS's MTV Unplugged taping that August, at which original members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss joined the band onstage for the first time in years. That reunion set the stage for the original lineup's return in full makeup in 1996, one of the most widely followed comebacks in rock history.
Condition: Regarding the state of this gear, both monitors remain in very good condition. They exhibit common cosmetic characteristics consistent with professional concert use, handling, and long-term storage, including light scuffs on the exterior casing and standard aging of the hardware. The stenciled logos and interior inventory stickers are fully intact and clearly legible, preserving the unmistakable visual markers of authentic tour-used equipment.
