Offered Here: KISS 1989-1990 Hot In The Shade Heavy Duty Leather Crew Jacket

Item Details: This original KISS 1989 "Hot In The Shade" heavy-duty leather crew jacket is a premier behind-the-scenes artifact from the band's inner circle. Manufactured by UMR Inc. (New York / London / Paris), this exclusive promotional jacket was strictly issued to band members, crew, and management, making it an incredibly rare insider collectible rather than retail merchandise. This classic piece features a warm quilted lining, four front pockets, an adjustable waist belt, shoulder epaulets, and zippered cuffs. Marked a size 40 and measuring 20 inches pit-to-pit by 27 inches in length, this historic garment is over 35 years old and remains in very good, lightly worn condition with only common signs of age and storage.

Released in October 1989 during KISS's non-makeup era, Hot in the Shade was self-produced by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons and featured the lineup of Stanley, Simmons, guitarist Bruce Kulick and drummer Eric Carr. The album yielded the power ballad "Forever," co-written by Stanley and Michael Bolton, which reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of the band's highest-charting singles. It was also the last KISS studio album recorded with Carr, who sang lead on "Little Caesar" and died in 1991, giving the record and its supporting tour a distinct place in the band's history.
