Item Details: SLAYER!!!! In 2002, Hanneman approached Nevada-based artisan Bryan Schoening, founder of the acclaimed studio Coffin It Up, to realize a vision for his personal residence. Utilizing Hanneman’s own hand-drawn blueprints, Schoening spent 12 months handcrafting an exclusive suite of furniture. Initially, the designs featured Hanneman's initial "H," which the musician later revised to a cryptic, slanted "S" intertwined with a key symbol. These awesome end tables stand as the accompanying pieces to the larger coffin table. These are great quality pieces representing Hanneman's distinct personal aesthetic. Build details: Masterfully carved from select solid mahogany wood, choosing dense grains for weight and permanence. The coffin end tables measures 34 x 24 x 20 inches (LxWxH) and are overall in Very Good condition, one has had a wooden dowel replaced that is also stained differently and they show light signs of domestic use consistent with the history inside the Hanneman estate. These items are oversized and local pick up is highly encouraged. Shipping will be exorbitant and will most likely be a freighted item, so please bid knowing that shipping these items will be costly. Jeff Hanneman co-founded Slayer with guitarist Kerry King in Huntington Park, California, in 1981, and the band became one of the "Big Four" of thrash metal alongside Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax. Hanneman was a principal songwriter, credited with "Angel of Death" and "Raining Blood" from the 1986 album Reign in Blood, produced by Rick Rubin, a record widely cited as a defining work of thrash and a major influence on the later death metal and extreme metal scenes. His fast, aggressive riffing and dark lyrical themes shaped Slayer's sound until his death in 2013.
