Offered Here: Ian McLagan 1995 Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contributions to British Music Statue, Program & Photo. This auction lot includes the Ivor Novello statue awarded to Ian McLagan at the 41st annual ceremony on May 30, 1996, in recognition of Small Faces' impact on British music. Accompanying the bronze-style statue are the official event program from the 1996 ceremony and a 9 by 12 inch photograph of the group celebrating with their awards. The statue stands approximately 11 3/4 inches tall.
Additional Information: The Ivor Novello Awards are presented annually in London by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers, and Authors to honor excellence in music writing. They are named after the celebrated Welsh composer Ivor Novello and are among the most prestigious music awards in the UK. The 1995 ceremony highlighted the enduring influence of the Small Faces on the music scene, underscoring their contributions to British cultural history.
Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.
Condition: All items in this collection are in exceptional condition and have been well preserved over the decades. The award statue and printed materials exhibit aging and storage wear typical of artifacts from this era. The photograph retains its clarity and vibrant quality, while the program displays minor handling marks consistent with items from a live awards gala.
