Offered Here: Eagles 1996 Hell Freezes Over World Tour Crew Long Rain Jacket
Item Details: This listing features a highly unique and incredibly well-preserved piece of backstage memorabilia with this Eagles 1996 Hell Freezes Over World Tour crew long rain jacket. Manufactured by the specialized Storm Mate brand, this clear hooded rain jacket was issued exclusively to production crew members navigating the outdoor elements during the final legs of the band's historic multi-year world tour. It is a size Regular, measuring a generous 28 inches pit to pit and a long 40 inches in total length. Featuring secure double front snaps and an integrated hood, this rare piece of outerwear stands out as an exceptional cross-over item for both music history collectors and vintage fashion enthusiasts.
After splitting in 1980, the Eagles became known for Don Henley's remark that the band would reunite "when hell freezes over," a phrase they adopted as a title when Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, Don Felder and Timothy B. Schmit reconvened in 1994. The resulting album, Hell Freezes Over, combined songs from their MTV live special with four new studio tracks, including "Get Over It" and "Love Will Keep Us Alive," and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The accompanying tour, which ran from 1994 into 1996, was one of the most commercially successful of the decade and reestablished the Eagles as a major touring act, helping set the pattern for the large-scale classic rock reunion tours that followed.
Condition: The garment is in particularly good condition, showing common signs of wear, ageing, or storage despite its utilitarian purpose on tour. The clear material remains remarkably clean, pliable, and free of the typical clouding or stiffness often found in vintage weather-resistant gear. There are a few faint, inky smudges across the front of the body, mostly on the right side. All double front snaps are intact and fully functional, making this a stellar, display-ready artifact from the Eagles' legendary 1990s production run.
