The Royal Affair Tour of 2019 brought together musicians whose careers trace the arc of British progressive rock, from its late-1960s origins to its arena-scale success in the 1980s. Yes, formed in London in 1968, became one of the defining progressive rock bands with albums such as "Fragile" and "Close to the Edge" and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017, while The Moody Blues, with bassist John Lodge, helped pioneer the fusion of rock and orchestral music on "Days of Future Passed" and entered the Hall of Fame in 2018. Asia, formed in 1981 by veterans of Yes, King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, carried that lineage into the mainstream when its self-titled 1982 debut reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
