Offered Here: Ultravox 1979 Concert Contracts & Correspondence Lot-Paragon Agency. This is a collection of original concert paperwork from the Paragon Agency, documenting seventeen Ultravox concert performances during February and March 1979. The lot includes copies of the original contracts and internal communication, featuring a note from Ian Copeland at Paragon Agency to Don Schmitzerle, Vice President of Capricorn Records, encouraging the label to consider signing the band. Also included are several telexes that provide insight into the business aspects and potential career direction of the New Wave band.
Additional Information: In 1979, Ultravox was transitioning with new band member Midge Ure, who later in 1980 became a prominent figure in the band. The Paragon Agency played a significant role in managing tours for numerous New Wave and punk bands during that era. Capricorn Records, notable for its influence in the Southern rock genre, was an unexpected yet strategic pairing for Ultravox, a burgeoning band in the New Wave scene.
