By 1969 John Lennon was moving beyond The Beatles even as the group recorded its final studio work, including the January rooftop performance in London and the album Abbey Road, released that September. That year he married Yoko Ono, staged the Bed-In for Peace protests in Amsterdam and Montreal, and released "Give Peace a Chance" with the Plastic Ono Band, linking his music to the antiwar movement. In September he privately told his bandmates he was leaving the group, a decision that marked the start of his solo career and the end of the band that had reshaped popular music through the decade.
Condition: The physical state of this historic print is exemplary. It presents in magnificent condition, exhibiting virtually no evidence of handling, environmental aging, or long-term storage wear. The contrast remains crisp, and the paper surfaces are clean and well-preserved.
