Offered Here: Small Faces 1968 Ogden's Nut Gone Flake Immediate Mono UK Pressing LP. An original 1968 UK mono pressing of Small Faces' acclaimed album Ogden's Nut Gone Flake. Previously owned by the band's own keyboardist, Ian McLagan, this record features rare light lilac or white labels from a brief transitional period before the switch to more common pink Immediate labels. It is housed in an iconic circular fold-out sleeve designed as a parody of a traditional tobacco tin.
Additional Information: Ogden's Nut Gone Flake, released in May 1968, is considered a landmark album in psychedelic rock. Known for its innovative use of narrative and conceptual structuring, the album peaked at number one on the UK Albums Chart. The band was led by Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane, with Ian McLagan’s distinctive keyboard style contributing significantly to their sound. This album remains a significant representative of the British Mod and psychedelic music scene of the late 1960s.
Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.
Condition: The vinyl is in very good condition with some visible surface scratches and surface noise, but plays without skips. The sleeve is well-preserved for its age, showing minor signs of wear and ageing. The unique multi-panel circular sleeve has two detached panels, while the artwork remains vivid.
