Offered Here: Small Faces 1968 Ogden's Nut Gone Flake Album Cover Mock Up. This is the original 1968 album cover mock-up for Small Faces' "Ogden's Nut Gone Flake," directly from the personal collection of keyboardist Ian McLagan. This prototype was used during the production process to visualize the album's unique circular "tobacco tin" sleeve before final manufacture. The mock-up features the primary cover and internal images, though lacking printed credits or identifying information. The final inside flap is absent of the printer's credit seen on commercial releases, providing a behind-the-scenes view into the creation of a renowned sleeve design in music history.

Additional Information: Released in 1968, "Ogden's Nut Gone Flake" is the third album by the Small Faces and is celebrated for its innovative packaging and concept. The album reached number one on the UK Albums Chart, maintaining this position for six weeks. The cover design, resembling a tobacco tin, was considered groundbreaking and became iconic in the history of album art.

Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.

Condition: The mock-up is in remarkable condition, indicating its role as a prototype with key production differences, such as wider folded edges and a misalignment in the cropping of the first internal panel. These features corroborate its status as a working prototype rather than a final product.
