Freddie Mercury, Queen's lead vocalist and principal songwriter, became one of rock's most distinctive frontmen through a four-octave vocal range and a theatrical stage presence that turned stadium concerts into shared spectacles with the audience. In the early 1980s Queen reached new commercial heights with "The Game," which topped the Billboard 200 and produced the US No. 1 singles "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "Another One Bites the Dust," and in 1985 the band's set at Live Aid at Wembley Stadium came to be widely regarded as one of the finest live performances in rock history. The 1986 Magic Tour proved to be Mercury's last with the band before his death in November 1991, and Queen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
