Item Details: This exceptional rock & roll artifact features a single, museum-quality 8 x 10-inch black-and-white photograph capturing virtuosic guitarist Brian May lost in concentration, looking down as he coaxes legendary tones out of his custom-built Red Special guitar during Queen's landmark 1977 tour. Freezing an intimate moment of artistic focus from the band's golden era, this highly collectible print is personally signed by acclaimed photographer Waring Abbott and hand-numbered 1 of only 2.

Provenance / Authenticity: The items in this lot are sourced directly from the personal archives of renowned photojournalist Waring Abbott. Abbott’s iconic imagery has graced the pages of Time, Newsweek, People, Rolling Stone, and countless foreign publications, alongside legendary album covers and photo spreads for KISS, Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed, and Bob Dylan and others.

Brian May's guitar work was central to Queen's sound, built around the Red Special, the instrument he constructed with his father Harold in the 1960s and played with a sixpence coin in place of a standard pick. His layered, orchestrated guitar harmonies became a defining feature of the band's records, and he wrote many of their best-known songs, including "We Will Rock You," released in 1977 on the album News of the World. Queen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, and May remains one of the most recognizable guitarists in rock, with a tone closely tied to the instrument he built himself.
