Nirvana's second album, Nevermind, released on DGC in September 1991, carried the Seattle grunge scene from independent labels such as Sub Pop to a global mainstream audience, and in January 1992 it replaced Michael Jackson's Dangerous at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Led by the single "Smells Like Teen Spirit," the band of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl shifted the direction of rock radio and MTV away from the polished hard rock of the 1980s toward a rawer, punk-influenced sound, and the record's reach extended well beyond North America and Europe to markets including Brazil. Nirvana's influence on alternative rock was formally recognized with the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
Condition: The poster is in very good condition and presents beautifully while exhibiting authentic signs of age and handled storage. As a genuine pullout supplement, it features original machine folds that show expected wear, alongside small holes along the seam where it was originally held in place by magazine staples. To preserve its structural integrity for the future, the backs of the folds along the outer edges have been professionally reinforced with archival museum tape to prevent any further tearing.
