Offered Here: Motörhead 1980s-2012 Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor Stage Worn Black Ankle Boots with Buckle & LOA

Item Details: This extraordinary lot features a pair of heavily stage worn black leather ankle boots with silver buckles, owned and worn by Phil 'Philthy Animal' Taylor, the legendary drummer for Motörhead. Taylor was the powerhouse drummer for the band from 1975 to 1984 and 1987 to 1992, recording eleven studio albums and four live albums. Along with Lemmy and Fast Eddie Clarke, he formed what is widely considered the classic line-up of the group. According to the accompanying letter of provenance from his sister, Helen Greenwood nee Taylor, Phil purchased these European men's size 7 boots in the 1980s, brought them to the United States when he moved there in the 1990s, and wore them both on and off stage as one of his few primary pairs. The boots were shipped back to England with him in 2012, prior to his tragic passing from liver failure in 2015. Offering impeccable provenance, these boots represent a rare, highly personal artifact from one of heavy metal's most iconic and influential drummers.

Provenance / Authenticity: Letter of Authenticity from Phil Taylor's sister Helen Greenwood

Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor anchored Motörhead's classic line-up alongside Lemmy Kilmister and "Fast Eddie" Clarke, a trio whose loud, fast and raw sound bridged punk and heavy metal and shaped what became the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. His aggressive double bass drum work, especially on the title track of 1979's Overkill, is widely cited as a key influence on the thrash and speed metal drummers who followed. Records from this era, including Ace of Spades and the live album No Sleep 'til Hammersmith, which reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart in 1981, remain central to the band's reputation and to the history of hard rock.

Condition: The boots are in good condition and remain completely intact, showing extensive personal and stage wear that beautifully highlights their authentic history on the road. Please note that these boots are being sold strictly as a historical collectible item and are not intended for regular wearable use.
