KISS spent the 1980s performing without the makeup that had defined its image since the early 1970s, and Hot in the Shade (1989) captured the band late in that unmasked era, producing the power ballad "Forever," which reached the Billboard Hot 100 top ten. The video for "Rise to It" opened with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley applying their classic makeup, their first appearance in it since unmasking in 1983 and a nod to the original personas the band would fully revive later in the decade. The album was also the last full studio record KISS made with drummer Eric Carr, who died in 1991.
Condition: The entire shadowbox assembly is in exceptionally good condition and exhibits minimal signs of wear, aging, or storage. The frame and glass maintain excellent structural integrity, cleanly preserving the internal contents from dust and environmental degradation. The enclosed gloves, photograph, and description card remain securely mounted and showcase vibrant details.
