It measures 17 ¼ x 21 ¼ inches and is in good overall condition, with some light scuffs to the Plexi and some visible scratches to the upper corners and lower section of the frame. It has the original Dejay Products LLC stickers (2) on the back of the award. This award comes directly from the private collection of Peter ‘Moose’ Oreckinto and will be accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity, signed by Oreckinto.
Provenance / Authenticity: Peter ‘Moose’ Oreckinto is best known for being an original member of the KISS road crew and for helping to engineer and develop many of their early stage effects and gear. He joined the band in September of 1973 and was primarily brought in as the drum technician for Peter Criss. He eventually parted ways with the band after the 1976 ‘Destroyer’ tour.
Gene Simmons' self-titled album was one of four solo records that each member of KISS released on the same day in September 1978 through Casablanca Records, a coordinated marketing effort with no real precedent in rock. Simmons used the project to step outside the band's hard rock formula, recruiting guests such as Joe Perry, Rick Nielsen, Bob Seger, Donna Summer, Cher and Katey Sagal, and closing the album with a cover of "When You Wish Upon a Star." The four albums shipped in enormous quantities and came to symbolize both the scale of KISS's late-1970s commercial peak and the music industry excess of that era.
