Exhibiting authentic vintage character, both prints show age and mild edge wear, with the band photograph containing a single punched hole in the top right corner.
Provenance / Authenticity: The items in this lot are sourced directly from the personal archives of renowned photojournalist Waring Abbott. Abbott’s iconic imagery has graced the pages of Time, Newsweek, People, Rolling Stone, and countless foreign publications, alongside legendary album covers and photo spreads for KISS, Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed, and Bob Dylan and others.
Detroit was one of the first cities to embrace KISS, and Cobo Hall, where the band recorded portions of its 1975 breakthrough album Alive!, became closely tied to the group's rise as a major arena act. Built around the elaborate makeup personas of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, KISS fused hard rock with theatrical stagecraft such as pyrotechnics, fire-breathing and smoking guitars, setting a template for spectacle in rock concerts. Criss, the band's original drummer known as the Catman, also sang lead on "Beth," a 1976 ballad that became one of the group's biggest hit singles.
