Offered Here: John Lee Hooker 1964 Autographed Postal Letter. This item features the autograph of legendary blues artist John Lee Hooker, signed in black ballpoint on the back of a 1964 overdue statement reminder addressed to Ian's father.
Additional Information: John Lee Hooker, known for his distinctive style of blues, released several influential albums in the early 1960s, including "Burnin'" in 1962 and "The Big Soul of John Lee Hooker" in 1963. During this period, Hooker's music began to gain popularity in the UK, influencing a number of British blues artists. The mid-1960s saw him continue to tour and record extensively, solidifying his reputation as a pioneering blues musician.
Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.
Condition: The letter is in overall very good condition with a clear, bold signature on the back. The material has minimal wear consistent with its age.
