Offered Here: Ian McLagan 1969 - 2014 Wurlitzer 200A Electric Piano & Flight Case. This Wurlitzer 200A electric piano was a primary instrument for Ian McLagan and was used extensively during iconic tours and recording sessions, most notably with The New Barbarians and The Rolling Stones. Originally black, McLagan repainted the piano red, a color it maintained throughout its significant history, including during the recording of "Miss You" and on the Stones' 1978 and 1981 world tours. The piano was exhibited at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and comes with its original legs (two missing foot), sustain pedal, and a heavily weathered flight case.

Additional Information: The Wurlitzer 200A electric piano, developed by the Wurlitzer Company, became popular in the 1960s and 1970s due to its unique sound and portability. Ian McLagan, a member of The Small Faces and later The Faces, was renowned for his energetic keyboard style, which contributed to the sound of the era. The New Barbarians, formed in 1979, is noted for its lineup of notable rock musicians including Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood. McLagan's work with The Rolling Stones included contributing keyboard textures to hits like “Miss You.”

Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.

Condition: This electric piano shows significant wear consistent with decades of professional road use and is sold in tour-hardened, as-is vintage condition. It includes the original legs, with two missing a foot, a sustain pedal, and a heavily weathered flight case indicative of its storied past.
