Offered Here: Ian McLagan 1981 Iconic Purple Red Yellow Stage Worn Shirt. This purple shirt with yellow and red highlights was part of Ian McLagan's personal stage wardrobe during the Rolling Stones' 1981 tour. Created by John Henry, this garment is recognizable from various videos and archival footage of the band during that period. Measuring 19 inches from pit to pit and 28 inches in length, the size indicator is no longer legible. Additional Information: In 1981, the Rolling Stones embarked on a major American tour to promote their album "Tattoo You." The tour was notable for its elaborate stage shows and was seen as a successful reinvigoration of the band's live performances on a large scale. Ian McLagan, who joined the tour as a keyboardist, had already established a reputation as a talented musician with his previous work in The Small Faces and Faces. His participation in the tour added to the collaborative dynamic that characterized The Rolling Stones' performances during this era.

Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.

Condition: The shirt is in very good condition, with identifiable wear consistent with stage use. While the size indicator is illegible, there are no significant rips or stains. The shirt is intended for display rather than wear.
