Offered Here: Ian McLagan 1972 Custom Stage Worn "Top Of The Pops" Suit. This historic two-piece stage-worn suit represents a tangible aspect of rock and roll history, featuring during the Faces' renowned "Top of the Pops" performance in 1972. The custom-made ensemble includes a jacket and pants in a distinctive tan and brown interlocking pattern. The four-button jacket measures 17 inches from pit to pit and 28 inches in length, while the flared pants have an approximate 28-inch waist and 29-inch length. With no size labels, this garment is presented as an archival collectible, reflecting its provenance from one of the band's celebrated television appearances.

Additional Information: In 1972, the Faces performed “You Wear It Well” on the popular British television program “Top of the Pops,” showcasing their vibrant style and musical prowess. The show was instrumental in promoting the band’s music to a broad audience during a pivotal time in rock history. Ian McLagan's unique fashion sense was on full display with this suit, emblematic of early 1970s rock fashion trends.

Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.

Condition: The suit is in very good condition, with vibrant colors and intact stitching. As an artifact of stage performance, it shows minimal wear consistent with its age and historical use. There are no visible size markers or additional manufacturing labels.
