Offered Here: Humble Pie 1969 Growing Closer Acetate Ian McLagan Personal Copy. This is the personal copy of a 1969 acetate for the track "Growing Closer" by Humble Pie, belonging to keyboardist Ian McLagan. McLagan was a foundational member of Humble Pie during its formative period alongside Steve Marriott, Peter Frampton, Jerry Shirley, and Greg Ridley. While he later left the group, he retained this specific copy of the track contributed to the band's debut album, "As Safe as Yesterday Is." This acetate is a unique piece as the track was never released as a standalone single, possibly making it the only known copy in existence.

Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.

Condition: The acetate is in very good condition, though it exhibits light scratches, discoloration, and other typical signs of aging and storage associated with high-sensitivity studio reference discs of this vintage. As a functional artifact from McLagan's own archive, it stands as a testament to its history and connection to the band's early creative process. The disc offers a unique, museum-quality link to the origins of one of the renowned rock supergroups of the sixties.
