Offered Here: Genesis 1981-1984 Lot of 2 Official Tour Programs
Item Details: Offered here is a fantastic piece of progressive rock history featuring a stellar duo of official tour programs charting the band's massive 1980s commercial breakthrough. This lot captures the legendary group at the absolute peak of their stadium-rock evolution, beginning with a rare 1981 Abacab tour program that documented their bold transition into a sleek, new-wave-infused sound. Paired with it is the official 1983/1984 Mama tour program, which serves as a beautifully printed companion to their self-titled multi-platinum era and monumental global stadium runs. Both of these vintage collector's items survive in good condition with authentic signs of age, handling, and careful shelf storage that come with genuine concert memorabilia.
By the early 1980s, Genesis had become the trio of Tony Banks, Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford, having moved past the elaborate progressive rock of the Peter Gabriel years toward tighter songwriting, a shift made clear on 1981's Abacab, which topped the UK album chart. The 1983 self-titled album, also a UK number one, brought the band further mainstream success with songs such as "Mama" and "That's All," the latter becoming a US top ten single. This period established Genesis as one of the major arena acts of the decade and laid the groundwork for the even larger commercial success of Invisible Touch later in the 1980s.
Condition: Good with common signs of age, handling, and storage.
