Item Details: This outstanding auction lot features a highly desirable trio of authentic, original Eagles concert posters tracking the band's historic reunion era from 1994 through 2004 across both the United States and Japan. The first piece is the landmark 1994 poster celebrating their historic June performances at the Shoreline Amphitheatre just outside of San Francisco, California, measuring approximately 20 and 3/4 by 29 inches. The second item is a rare international piece from the 1995 Japanese leg of the iconic Hell Freezes Over tour, measuring 20 and 1/4 by 28 and 3/4 inches. Rounding out this impressive collection is a massive, visually commanding poster from the 2004 Japanese Farewell I tour, which measures a grand 28 and 3/4 by 40 and 1/2 inches. Offering both domestic and rare overseas venue variants, this lot provides a comprehensive visual timeline of one of rock history's most successful comeback eras, making it a stellar acquisition for serious music archivists and Eagles enthusiasts.
The Eagles were among the most commercially successful American bands of the 1970s, blending country, folk and rock into a polished West Coast sound on records such as "Hotel California," and their "Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975)" became one of the best-selling albums in U.S. history. After splitting in 1980, the group reunited in 1994, taking the name of their reunion album and tour from Glenn Frey's earlier remark that they would play together again "when hell freezes over," and the "Hell Freezes Over" album went to No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The reunion launched a second career as one of the top-grossing live acts of the following decade, and the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
Condition: The posters range from good to very good condition, each presenting beautifully with common characteristics consistent with handling, natural aging, and rolled archival storage. The 1994 Shoreline Amphitheatre poster is in good condition, exhibiting standard edge wear, small tears on the left side near the bottom, roll creasing, and minor paper warpage. The 1995 Hell Freezes Over Japanese tour poster is also in good condition, showing heavier edge wear concentrated along the right side, light surface creasing, and typical roll warpage. The final 2004 Japanese Farewell I tour poster is in very good condition, presenting exceptionally well with only minor edge wear along the sides and light surface creasing. All three posters retain strong color brilliance and are prime candidates for professional framing to preserve their historical value.
