Presented is the official 2007 Vinyl Films release of Cat Stevens' soundtrack for the 1971 film "Harold and Maude." Initially not released when the film premiered, the soundtrack features exclusive tracks like 'Don't Be Shy' and 'If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out,' which were previously unavailable outside of the film or later compilations. This limited-edition package includes a 40-page booklet, two posters, and a white label 7-inch single with demo versions and handwritten lyrics.
Additional Information: The soundtrack for "Harold and Maude" became available in 2007 thanks to Cameron Crowe’s Vinyl Films label. Crowe, an ardent admirer of the film and Stevens, recognized the enduring appeal of its music. The 2007 release allowed fans to officially obtain these iconic songs, marrying the nostalgic essence of the film with a fresh platform for Stevens' timeless music.
Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.
Condition: This specimen is factory-sealed and remains in mint condition within its original packaging. The lot includes a bonus white 7-inch single featuring rare versions of the film's original songs, preserved in unplayed condition. The jacket and additional materials are intact and perfectly maintained, capturing this soundtrack's historical significance.
