A handwritten setlist by Bob Dylan from his 1984 tour in Australia, crafted after discussions with Ian McLagan regarding the on-stage setlist approach. This setlist was written by Dylan himself and left for McLagan at his hotel, marking an unusual instance where Dylan deviated from his typical practice of improvising the order of songs.
Additional Information: Bob Dylan's 1984 tour followed the release of his album “Infidels,” recorded in 1983 and notable for its return to rock music after a period of exploring gospel influences. The album features the well-regarded tracks "Jokerman" and "Sweetheart Like You," and his tour in support of the album included performances in Australia, drawing large crowds and significant attention for his distinctive and evolving sound during this period.
Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate. Also includes a Roger Epperson (REAL) Letter of Authenticity.
Condition: The setlist is in good condition with a fold down the middle. The writing remains clear and legible, capturing the historical significance of this moment in Dylan’s touring history.
