Offered Here: Billy Joel 1984-2016 Lot of 2 Programs + Fan Club Magazine
Item Details: Up for auction is an exceptional piece of rock history featuring a rare combination of official printed memorabilia celebrating the legendary Piano Man. This carefully curated lot brings together two decades of high-energy stage history, starting with a pristine 1993 tour program from his highly successful River of Dreams era and paired with a glossy 2016 tour program documenting his historic, record-breaking stadium residency runs. Adding incredible value for serious collectors is an elusive, vintage 1984 edition of The Rootbeer Rag, the exclusive official fan club magazine sent only to registered inner-circle members during the height of his mid-80s chart dominance. All three items survive in good condition with authentic signs of age and shelf storage that highlight their journey as treasured pieces of rock and roll history.
Billy Joel rose to prominence with "Piano Man" in 1973 and became one of the most commercially successful singer-songwriters of the rock era, blending pop, rock, doo-wop and Broadway-influenced balladry in albums such as The Stranger and 52nd Street, the latter winning the Grammy for Album of the Year. His 1993 album River of Dreams was his final studio collection of pop songs, after which he largely turned to touring and classical composition. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999, and the monthly Madison Square Garden residency he began in 2014 reflected an enduring popularity sustained almost entirely by live performance of his catalog.
