Offered Here: America 1973 Hat Trick Lot of 3 Concert Shirts
Item Details: This premier auction lot features three highly collectible, authentic concert shirts from the folk-rock band America, originating from their 1973 Hat Trick touring cycle. Representing a golden era of 1970s rock history, this beautifully preserved trio highlights the visual and cultural aesthetic of the band's acclaimed third studio album era. The collection offers a fantastic variety of vintage cuts and styles. First is a classic grey t-shirt featuring a highly sought-after tagless vintage look, measuring 17 inches pit to pit and 26 inches in length. Next is a crisp white pocket t-shirt in a size Medium, measuring 17 by 24 inches. Rounding out the lot is a tan t-shirt in a size Large, measuring 18 by 27 inches. An exceptional find for vintage music apparel collectors, this group lot presents a rare opportunity to acquire multiple pieces from a single iconic tour cycle.
America formed in London in 1970, when Dewey Bunnell, Gerry Beckley and Dan Peek, sons of U.S. Air Force personnel stationed in England, began blending acoustic guitars and close vocal harmonies into a sound that defined much of early 1970s soft rock and folk-rock. Their debut single "A Horse with No Name" reached No. 1 in the United States in 1972, and the group won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Their third album, Hat Trick, released in 1973, was more musically ambitious and included "Muskrat Love." It preceded the band's partnership with producer George Martin, which brought a run of hits including "Tin Man," "Lonely People" and "Sister Golden Hair."
Condition: All three shirts are in very good vintage condition and present beautifully, showing normal characteristics of careful wear, natural aging, and decades of storage. The fabric on each garment retains excellent structural integrity, with seams and hems remaining intact. Any graphics or print elements exhibit the charming, minor fading and light vintage cracking that collectors actively look for to verify authentic period merchandise. The shirts are free from major detriments, significant stains, or large tears, making this a remarkably clean, investment-grade lot ready for immediate display or addition to an archive.
