This is a great lot of 13 recording reels featuring "Rock On" radio specials as produced and hosted by Norm N. Nite. The reels, which for the most part are masters, were recorded between the early 1970s and early 1980s and generally feature the stars from the 50s and 60s.
These fantastic shows include songs, commentary and interviews with artists such as Bobby Rydell, Rick Nelson, Paul Anka, Freddy Cannon, Bobby Vinton, Fabian, Lesley Gore, Brenda Lee, Petula Clark, The Orlons, The Shirelles, Lloyd Price, Brook Benton, Jackie Wilson, Jay & The Americans, Frankie Avalon, Gary U.S. bonds and many others.
Some of the show titles are; "The Hitmakers", "Teen Idols", "Swinging Sweethearts", Royalty of Rock", "Oldies 1954 - 1957" and "Greatest Christmas Hits".
Also included is a great 3-hour "Moondog Show", which aired on March 15, 1992 and celebrates Alan Freed and his infamous Moondog Coronation Ball in Cleveland.
The reels, which are generally in excellent condition, are recorded on 10-inch reels at 15 IPS and 1/2-inch tape.
The rights to these interviews are currently held by Norm. N. Nite and are not included with the purchases of this lot. However, if the future owner is also interested to purchase the (transfer of) rights, than please contact Backstage Auctions for further information.
