SIGNED "ROCK ON" BOOK LOT 150 AUTOGRAPHS LENNON, STARR, RICHARDS

Each auction has its "Holy Grail" items and the books in this lot might very well be the absolute "piece de resistance".

When Norm N. Nite's epic 1974 "Rock On: The Solid Gold Years" book was released, he received a special first print from the publisher which he - in the coming decades - had signed by the many Rock & Roll Hall of Famers and great artists from the 1950s and 1960s.

One of the very first to sign the book in 1974 was no one less than John Lennon, who even added his signature caricature. Ringo Starr, Sir George Martin, Dick Clark, Keith Richards and Wolfman Jack were among the first to subsequently sign the opening pages. By itself, that is an incredible star-studded line-up of autographs.....and these are just the opening pages of the book. An overwhelming total of 128 signatures fill the pages of this wonderful book, which further features the likes of Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, Bo Diddley, Chubby Checker, Chuck Berry, Gladys Knight, The Temptations and many others.

When John Lennon signed the book, he asked Norm for a copy, to be sent to his business address in New York. Not knowing the address, Norm asked John to write it on the back of an envelope, which is also included in this auction lot. The unmistakable handwriting of John Lennon reads: "1. 1370 Ave of Americas Lennon Music".

Also included are two identical copies of Norm's 1992 hardcover "Rock On Almanac" which respectively have 25 and 4 signatures from some of the greatest stars of the 1950s and 1960s.

Between the rare "Rock On" book, the John Lennon written envelope sheet and the two "Rock On Almanacs" you will receive over 150 dazzling, legendary and historic signatures. There is not a single document in rotation that has such a spectacular accumulation of valuable autographs and there is no way that a piece like this can ever be put together again. As stated earlier, this is the Holy Grail piece of the auction and will easily be the Holy Grail piece in your collection.
