Based on the successes of their legendary early 1980s albums and popularity in Europe, Saxon embarked on a massive headlining tour of the US, taking German metalheads Accept in tow, who had just released their chart-busting 'Balls To The Wall' album.
Featured here is a most unique and never-before-published lot of 36 color negatives of a 1983 Saxon And Accept in-store appearance at "Texas Tapes & Records" in Houston, Texas. Also included are 22 photos (3 x 5 inches) printed directly from the negatives.
The winning buyer of this lot will, upon full payment and clearing of funds, receive a legally binding agreement from the current owner of the materials as offered in this lot, granting the new owner full title and complete ownership rights. For more information about (the content of) this agreement and ownership rights, please contact Backstage Auctions, Inc.
The original photographer of these amazing negatives was Larry E. Lent, a Houston based independent concert photographer, who was mostly active during the 1970s and 1980s and is perhaps best know for his contributions to "Music News", Houston's longest running local music magazine.
The negatives featured in this auction lot are generally in very good condition. Some might show some surface dirt which can easily be removed with a micro fiber cloth or - even better - a film cleaning agent such as PEC 12. Others might actually have some surface wear, such as light scratches which is not uncommon for negatives of this age. The negatives have been preserved in a climate controlled environment and were stored in their original acid-free pocket envelopes. Also note that the negatives as seen in this lot have, for the purpose of this auction, been scanned with a Nikon negative scanner. |
