Rodney Greenblat is an American graphic artist, known best in America for the visual style of computer games such as PaRappa The Rapper and UmJammer Lammy, and in Japan for his successful comic Thunder Bunny. Prior to achieving his global exposure in the 1990s, Greenblat made a name for himself with the commission of the first 'They Might Be Giants' album cover (1986).
However, what we have here far precedes the above and should excite any fan and collector of Greenblat's unique art work! In 1983 Rodney was commissioned with the design of the first album by 'The Dark' (Don't Feed The Fashion Sharks, Relativity Records). Featured here is the original design for that album, painted on a 13 x 13 inch wood panel. The painting has barely visible surface wear but is overall in excellent condition. Also included is a sealed copy of the 'Fashion Sharks' album, showing the slight change in design. |
