By 1979, the tartan and sweet pop melodies were replaced by spandex and pastel tinted attire. Yes, even the Bay City Rollers had turned the corner and influenced by the new-wave sounds from England, migrated to a heavier sound and less teen-idol based image. Exclusive for 16 Magazine, a photo shoot was set-up in a New York based hotel. The end result is this impressive, rare and most unique collection of 143 color slides. Very few of the images - if any for that matter - were ever published.
Please note that all slides in this lot do include full transfer of ownership rights. The winning buyer of this lot will, upon full payment and clearing of funds, receive a legally binding agreement from - and signed by - the current owner of the materials as offered in this lot, granting the new owner full title and complete ownership rights. For more information about (the content of) this agreement and ownership rights, please contact Backstage Auctions, Inc.
A slide is a positive transparency, designed to be viewed when lit from behind. 35 millimeter film, which is the basic gauge commonly used for still photography and measures about 1 3/8 inch wide, is widely referred to as 'slides'.
The 35 mm color slides featured in this auction lot, which for the most part are original Kodachromes, are generally in excellent condition. They have been preserved in a climate controlled environment and were stored in plastic pocket sleeves. Also note that the slides as seen in this lot have, for the purpose of this auction, been photographed from an illuminated light box, which creates a slight blurriness and graining. In actuality, these slides are of significant higher quality and clarity. |
