Offered Here: Ian McLagan 1966 - 2014 "Betsy" 1966 Hammond B3 Organ With Leslie Speaker. Few instruments in the history of rock and roll carry the presence of "Betsy," Ian McLagan’s 1966 Hammond B3 organ. As McLagan’s main instrument for almost fifty years, this organ accompanied him on numerous global tours with the Small Faces, Faces, and Rolling Stones. Initially finished in wood grain, its aesthetic journey included transformations to red, black, and its current deep purple hue. This organ, along with the Leslie speaker cabinet offering the signature Doppler sound, was a premier exhibit in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, where it will be displayed through 2025.

Additional Information: Ian McLagan was an integral part of the British rock scene, known for his work with the Small Faces and the Faces in the 1960s and 1970s. The Hammond B3 organ was key to the rhythmic and melodic foundation of these bands, contributing to their classic sound. The distinctive swirling sound of McLagan’s performances is attributed to the Leslie speaker cabinet combined with the organ, a pivotal part of the band's shows and recordings.

McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.

Condition: The organ and speaker display significant wear consistent with extensive professional road use, both maintaining their tour-hardened, as-is vintage condition.
