Offered Here: Eric Clapton Owned & Stage Played 1974 Black Fender Stratocaster. This black 1974 Fender Stratocaster, made of ash and maple, was originally owned by Eric Clapton and later gifted to Ronnie Lane of Small Faces and Faces, around 1977 while at Fishpool Farm in Wales. The guitar was subsequently passed on to Ian McLagan, who used it on his own albums prior to his passing in 1997. Documented photos show Clapton playing this instrument with Ronnie Lane in the 1970s at the Drum and Monkey Pub in Minsterly, as well as on stage during the 1970's. The guitar comes with a teal strap, an oversized acoustic guitar gig bag, two metal slides, and two .88mm guitar picks.

Additional Information: Eric Clapton, known for his influential style and contribution to blues and rock music, owned this guitar during a prolific period in his career. By 1974, Clapton had released successful albums like "461 Ocean Boulevard," which marked his return to the music scene following rehabilitation. Ronnie Lane was a pivotal member of The Small Faces and Faces, collaborating with Clapton during this era, while Ian McLagan was an integral part of the sound that defined those bands.

Provenance/Authenticity: This lot comes directly from the private collection of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ian McLagan, legendary founder and keyboard player of iconic rock band The Small Faces / Faces. McLagan who also toured with The Rolling Stones, The New Barbarians and Bob Dylan, and recorded with dozens of artists. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Lee McLagan, on behalf of the Ian McLagan estate.

Condition: The guitar is in very good condition with a characteristically aged patina. It exhibits minor wear consistent with its history, including a small deep gouge near the jack input and tone knob.
